Number Three Turns Two

Can you believe it, little Paxton is two years old!

It never seems quite possible that time can pass so quickly. It feels like just yesterday we were anxiously waiting for baby Paxton to appear, grandma standing by patiently, but if that was yesterday when did we do all the neat stuff we've done since then? Like hiking in Colorado and sledding in Idaho, and canoeing in Montana, and shivering in Boston? Like learning to crawl and learning to walk and learning to tell Mommy "I wuv wooo?" And sliding on the slide and swinging on the swing and jumping on the trampoline. And riding in the backpack with Daddy, in the stroller with Mommy, and graduating to the Big Boy car seat. At some point he picked out his favorite stuffed doggy, lost his favorite doggy, and replaced his favorite doggy. He discovered that mashed bananas feel wonderful in your hair, lemons are oh-so-sour, and a spoon can be used to launch grapes at your brothers. The list goes on and on... In short, we've experienced a lot in the last two years, and it's been quite a ride!

Our little Paxton has grown from a bitty baby to a little boy with a personality all his own.

We had a small party this evening, complete with a few good friends and a two-candle train cake!
Paxton gets some tips from big brother on the finer points of candle blowing.
Checking out the cards with good buddy Hudson.
Everyone loves presents! Paxton doesn't know what to think about all this attention.
Happy Birthday Paxton!
(Kudos to Andrea for putting together another fabulous cake and a fun party, especially in her advanced state of motherhood. Well done, hon!)
