First Bike Ride of 2008

Today after work I dusted off the road bike and went for a little spin with Don and his biker-fanatic friend from work. It felt good to get out, but I'm going to be paying for it tomorrow. We went about 24 miles, which isn't bad, but we had to pedal against the wind for a couple of long stretches and that was tough. There must be an equation, like e = mw^2, that converts the miles (m) you bike against the wind (w) to equivalent elevation gain (e) for the same amount of energy. I feel like we climbed Pike's Peak.

Anyway, one of the reasons we're out biking in March is that Don and I (and Luke and his brother, among others) have signed up again for the Galena Triathlon. And of course we're behind schedule in our training. And May 17th is going to be here soon. The way this year is going, it'll be here like, next week. Wish us luck.

Fun... and the way this year is going, the swim will be canceled because the water is too cold. Ugh. I could be the photographer this time. ;)
