I'm Thankful

There are many things to be thankful for today. I found pictures of a few of them:

I'm thankful for a fantastic little family.

I'm thankful that I can stand on my head and read.

I'm thankful for teeth!

I'm thankful for lefse.

I'm thankful for simple pleasures and friends to share them with.

I'm thankful for brothers.

I'm thankful for apple peelers.
I'm thankful for life and for love. I'm thankful for friends who are like family and family to be friends with. I'm thankful for moms and pops who raised us well. For peace in my soul and a song in my heart, for blue sky above and green grass beneath, for a warm bed, potato chips, and turkey with dressing, for all these things I'm thankful.
I'm thankful that I can't think of all the things that I'm thankful for.

Anthony Names

This morning Anthony methodically catalogued all the people who were in our meeting, sounding out their names as well as he could. To those of you who weren't there or who have never been, his list may be so much gibberish, but I think those of you who know what he was trying to write will get a grin. I did.

Starting from the kitchen door and moving around the room:

Pancakes and Paxton Steps

Last Saturday morning we got out the griddle and toasted a few pancakes for breakfast.

While Kenrick perfected his flapjack-flipping skills, Paxton ricocheted around the kitchen like a pinball. Increased mobility suites him just fine.

He's not quite walking yet, but he is taking a few steps. He's starting to catch on to the fact that you have to lean and move your legs at the same time, but usually forgets one or the other.

Kenrick's done with the pancakes, time to eat!

Where Did He Learn That?

This evening I asked Kenrick when his piano teacher was supposed to arrive.

"I have no idea."

About Paxton

By Kenrick.

I am going to write about Paxton.

Paxton has three teeth. He is learning to put his pacifier in his mouth, he is also learning to shar. Paxton eats evrything he can get to. Paxton is very loud! He can say, Dad, Da now, also bu, bu which means brother. He does not like his diaper changed. Paxton likes to play and he likes his brothers!

Fall Photos 2

We took a walk in the park after lunch today and enjoyed the fresh air and the Fall colors.

Kenrick and Anthony enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake.

Eh, What's Up Doc!

Paxton considers what to do with a carrot that's as big as his head.

Candy Time

I took the kids out on Friday night for one of their most favorite activities of the year, soliciting candy from strangers. Ironically, the one night of the year when we see all the neighbors is the night that we can't recognize any of them. I did my best to be neighbourly by not wearing any disguise. Can you tell? Kenrick was a fireman, Anthony a penguin, and Paxton a pumpkinhead.
We got about two blocks before their buckets were too full to carry. Then we walked over to the high school and watched the football team win their first-round state playoff game. Not a bad night.
